Selection Tools
Selection tools do just that - select stuff. More specifically select parts of an image. There is the Lasso, which is a freehand selection tool. There is the Polygon Lasso tool, which uses straight lines to create a selection. My personal favorite is the Magnetic Lasso. Ideally suited for images that have fairly defined edges the computer looks for the edge and tries to magnetically "snap" to the edge. You can also "click" to set anchor points to help the computer along with this task.
Here you'll create 5 (five) images with at least a background and at least one subject inserted on top of a background as demonstrated below.
